One Halakhah Closer to Becoming an Eshet Hayil

BS''D
17 Nisan 5773
Today is the first day of HOL HA'MOED PESAH!
We are counting the Omer today....
BH We will be learning some Halakhot regarding the Omer over the next few days. Halakhot will be taken from Rav Ovadia Yosef's "Kitsur Yalkut Yosef l'talmidim" Siman 493

We count the days of the Omer between Pesah and Shavuot in anticipation of Matan Torah which happened 49 days after we left Misrayim. However, during this time as well, we observe practices of mourning from the day after Pesah until after the 33rd day of the Omer (Sephardim call this day Lag La'Omer) in deference to the 24,000 students of Rabbi Akiva who perished during this time.
(MidrESHET Hayil will not be counting the days of the Omer within the emails since women do NOT make the Berakhah on the counting of the Omer and we do not wish for anyone to become confused and accidentally make a Berakhah....nevertheless it is still permitted to keep track of the days in anticipation for Matan Torah/Shavuot.)
