A Few Sefirot Closer to Becoming an Eshet Hayil

Today is LAG BA'OMER!!!!

Today Lag Ba'Omer and the Hiloula/Yahrzeit of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yohai. It is the thirty third day of the Omer where the students of Rabbi Akiva ceased to perish, and also the day that the holy Zohar was revealed to us by its author, Rabbi Shimon bar Yohai. Here is a PDF by Rebbetzin Chana Bracha Siegelbaum that beautifully explains what Lag Ba'Omer is all about (including why we light bonfires!), I highly recommend reading it! Enjoy!

Today is tremendously powerful time to daven, light candles and give sedakah in his zekhout. We have a minhag of using bows and arrows today on Lag Ba'Omer. The word for bow in Lashon Kodesh is  קשת  KeSHeT; it stands for Shema Kol Tefilateinu, Listen to the Voice of our Tefillot. Be'Ezrat HaShem may all our tefillot be answered le'Tova u'le'Berakhah! Have an enjoyable Lag Ba'Omer!!

Day Seven of Week 5: Malchut of Hod- Majesty within Humilty

"Walking humbly is walking tall. Dignity is the essence of humility and modesty. The splendor of humility is majestic and aristocratic. Humility that suppresses the human spirit and denies individual sovereignty is not humility at all. Does my humility make me feel dignified? Do I feel alive and vibrant?

Exercise for the day: Teach someone how humility and modesty enhance human dignity."

"Gevurah of Yesod: Discipline of Bonding
Bonding must be done with discretion and careful consideration with whom and with what you bond. Even the healthiest and closest bonding needs "time out", a respect for each individual's space. Do I overbond? Am I too dependent on the one I bond with? Is he too dependent on me? Do I bond out of desperation? Do I bond with healthy, wholesome people?

Exercise for the day: Review the discipline in your bonding experiences to see if it needs adjustment."

Day Three of Week 6: Tiferet of Yesod- Compassion within Bonding

"Bonding needs to be not only loving but also compassionate, feeling your friend's pain and empathizing with him. Is my bonding conditional? Do I withdraw when I am uncomfortable with my friend's troubles?

Exercise for the day: Offer help and support in dealing with an ordeal of someone you have bonded with."
