TODAY IS POURIM!!!! YAY!!!!
Remember to say Al HaNisim/BiYemei Mordechai in the Amidah and Birkat HaMazon J
BH. as today is Pourim, here is a comprehensive 'checklist' to ensure that you and your family will have covered all of the special Missvot of Pourim :) Hag Pourim Sameah!!
Megillah. One must attend two live readings from a Kasher Megillah scroll. The first reading must be on Pourim night. The second reading is during the day of Pourim.
The following three Missvot are done on Pourim day:
Mishloah Manot. We send gifts of ready-to-eat food. We are obligated to give two items of immediately edible food, each packagaed separately, to one person. Men give to men and women give to women.
Matanot leEvyonim. We send gifts to the poor. We must give to two separate needy people. We can donate in advance of Pourim day if the organization will distribute the money/food items on Pourim day. Ideally, we should donate enough money/food items for a meal for each person.
Seoudah. A "festive meal." We prepare or attend a bigger/more elaborate meal than we normally do and we make sure to be celebrating with others! The minimum standard for a Seoudah is to do Netilat Yadayim, eat bread, and make Birkat HaMazon. The Seoudah should include meat and wine. ENJOY!!

**Although today we engage in more wordly delights and pleasures, its is a TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL TIME FOR TEFILLAH. It is advisable to spend a portion of Pourim day to pray and beseech HaShem to send us great Yeshuout in zekhout of Ester and Mordekhai who were also sent great Yeshuout on this day. May HaKadosh Baroukh Hu answer every single of one our Tefillot, as well as the Tefillot of the entire Kelal Yisrael, leTovah u'le'Berakhah!!!!**
